Baystate Health is sucking wind. David Williams explains in the Boston Globe

Weeks after Steward Healthcare’s bankruptcy, Baystate Health in Western Massachusetts is looking shaky.

David Williams is quoted in the Boston Globe (Baystate Health in Western Massachusetts plans more layoffs):

“They’ve had large operating losses,” said David E. Williams, president of the Boston consulting firm Health Business Group. “This is typical of what’s happening nationally with hospitals and in New England and in Massachusetts in particular.”

It’s a particular problem for Baystate, which doesn’t have a big endowment.
